The NHS needs to make savings because of growing demand and must achieve up to £20bn of efficiency savings by 2015; through a focus on quality, innovation, productivity and prevention, QIPP (DH, 2011). It is therefore crucially important to understand how to most effectively disseminate and spread evidence based innovation in a sustainable way in order to support NHS leaders and organisations to meet the current challenges faced by the NHS. This is where the value of the Yorkshire & Humber HIEC resides.
We aim to support the NHS throughout Y&H in meeting the QIPP challenge, by delivering our vision of making the NHS in Y&H a national and international leader in the rapid and universal introduction of proven innovate best practices and technologies in healthcare delivery, education, training and development – turning best practice into common practice.
