This HIEC Patient Safety programme focuses on providing a multi-disciplinary workforce with the knowledge, tools, skills and motivation to invent, adopt and spread safer ways of working.  We have a number of projects being implemented now and planned for the future including:

TAPS Training and Action for Patient Safety is a new training programme helping multi-professional clinical teams to develop innovative solutions to address common patient safety problems, such as:

  • Handover
  • Medicines safety
  • Suicide prevention
  • VTE assessment and management
  • Patient transfer
