Our work

The aim of this theme is to promote adoption and diffusion of evidence-based best practice across the region and to address inequalities in health and care, through innovation, education, and collaborative working.  Working with existing structures and systems, and across the whole health economy, the programme will support work that is evidence-based and multidisciplinary, and will involve widespread participation and consultation.

Priority topic areas have been agreed for the first year, following consultation with colleagues in partner organisation, these are:

  • maternal and infant nutrition,
  • normal birth/reducing interventions in labour and birth.

We are delivering a number of pieces of work within these topics, including:

  • evidence into practice consultation exercise around admission in labour and infant feeding and attachment / bonding in neonatal units – the report is available now.  more …
  • a new project where we intend to work at scale with two neonatal networks and in community/labour ward settings across the region to introduce, cascade and embed best practice. We will use a flexible, needs based and multi-faceted package robustly underpinned by evidence based innovation and education to create sustainable change. more …
  • the launch of the multidisciplinary infant feeding education distance learning resource across Yorkshire and Humber.  more …
